Chubby Chick on a Yoga Mat
What is my chubby butt doing on a yoga mat? Last yoga class was interesting. We did a lot of bound poses and while I sat there looking at the other much more talented people (Karen is my yoga hero) I realized that I might not be able to do those poses right now, but it doesn't mean that I'm going to give up. I notice which poses I like; Warrior, Pigeon, and Cobra. Which poses that I don't (for now) Downward Facing Dog, Crane, and Plank. I vow to learn more and try harder, I remind myself of the limits of my body and I move on. I make a promise to myself, my soul, that I'm going to eat better. If I don't take care of my body, who will? I am reminded of what the Dalai Lama once said; "Moderate effort over a long time is important, no matter what you are trying to do. One brings failure on oneself by working extremely hard at the beginning, attempting to do too much, and then giving it all up after a short time." I'm a work in progress.
